The Brooklyn Public Library branch on Adams Street in DUMBO will temporarily close for essential repairs on December 18, 2024 and is anticipated to reopen in April 2025. We are disappointed that this brand-new branch is already in need of repairs and we are working with the library to help identify the source of the issues.
Fortunately, the Brooklyn Public Library operates an Adams St Annex nearby at 1 John St. To continue serving the community, select neighborhood library services will be available there, including returning materials, picking up holds, creating or renewing library cards, and borrowing board games starting January 2. The Annex will be open weekdays from 10 am to 5 pm. The branch is also planning additional off-site programming, such as Storytimes, and we’ll share more information as those details are finalized.
